What We Do

Encina Veterinary Hospital is a multi-practice facility. What this means is that we are not your typical veterinary hospital; in one building, we house a general practice, specialty practice and emergency practice! With a wide range of doctors with varied expertise and experience, we work together to provide each and every patient the best care veterinary medicine has to offer. You can trust that when you walk through our door, we will diligently work with you and your pet to ensure a long and healthy life.

Another unique aspect of Encina Veterinary Hospital is our internship program. Each year we select 6 veterinarians, often who are newly graduated from veterinary colleges across the country. They are motivated to expand their clinical knowledge and experience in our teaching environment. For one year, they rotate through our departments where they gather knowledge from each of our practices (general, specialty and emergency). By continuing their education once out of veterinary medical school, they get real- life experience in a clinical veterinary environment. Every day an intern is paired up with a senior veterinarian and shadows him/her for the day. We want to provide you and your pet with the best medical care possible and we think it is very important to help our interns learn how to provide that same great medical care to their future patients. Not only are you receiving the best possible care for your pet, but you are also contributing to the professional growth of less-experienced veterinarians.
