Hospital Administrator: Kristyn Chen
In March of 2013, our Patient Care Team Leader, Kristyn Chen, was promoted to Practice Manager of Encina Veterinary Hospital! Kristyn has worked in veterinary hospitals across the nation that gave her the experience and expertise that landed her a job with us back in 2010 as a technician. In addition to her hands-on experience in the work field, her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania gave her the scholarly background needed to grow with Encina, and grow fast.
Shortly after joining our team in 2010, Kristyn was promoted to Patient Care Team Leader. In this position, Kristyn managed a team of over 20 technicians of all different levels and skill sets, to ensure that each patient of ours received the quality care that he or she required.
Quickly excelling in this position, Kristyn was once again promoted but this time to a position that was new to Encina – Practice Manager. Kristyn now oversees the day-to-day operations of Encina, while managing multiple teams of staff members around the clock of our growing practice.
Kristyn is currently undergoing the process to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) through the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA). In her spare time away from the hospital, Kristyn enjoys spending time with her husband and their 5 furbabies, remodeling their home in Livermore, and heading home to the East Coast when time permits to see her parents, sister and nephew.

In October of 2014, Christina was promoted to Operations Manager where her primary duty and responsibility is to continuously improve the workflow and productivity of the hospital including staff training and protocols.
When Christina is away from the hospital, she often out-and-about discovering new yummy restaurants with friends, learning racket ball, or spending quality time with her husband and their pets – a German Shepherd named Sasha and 3 cats named Frank, Rupert and George.
