Susan Burns has been with Encina Veterinary Hospital for nearly 20 years. Joining the Encina family as a Registered Veterinary Technician, Susan has always been an asset when it comes to patients. In 2009, Susan continued her studies and became an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician Specialists and has been our lead in anesthesia practices since. Her specialty of anesthesia is not only of use to patients, but to our team as well; each month she passes on some of her knowledge in presentations to the Encina Veterinary Hospital interns and is continuously a consult for all doctors here.
In her time away from the hospital, Susan also acts as a consultant for other veterinary hospitals and organizations when it comes to practicing anesthesia. With her full family of a husband and two daughters, she has extensively traveled the US and hopes to one day travel Europe. Her love of animals extends into her personal life with her dog Jack, cat Hallie, pet chickens, pet pigeons and honey bees she and her daughter harvest for her daughter’s Tassajara 4H club. When alone, Susan can be found involved in one of her hobbies: interior and landscape design, reading, traveling and being a parent volunteer for Cochlear Americus.
